STACEY DOOLEY: BACK ON THE PSYCH WARD BBC2, 9pm

Stacey Dooley (right) is back at Springfield Hospital on a hectic mental health ward, exploring how the pandemic has worsened mental health for those already struggling.

“I want to find out how they’re coping with the new normal,” she says, heading in to talk to both staff and patients who are in crisis.

Among those Stacey meets are Oskar, a 20-year-old student who is struggling with intense suicidal thoughts, and Coral, 23, who is selfmedicating her anxiety and depression by drinking alcohol.

Mental health nurse Bex says: “I’ve cried with people, I’ve cried for people, I’ve cried because of people, but at the end of the day I wouldn’t do anything else.”

SNACKMASTERS: WAGON WHEEL Channel 4, 9pm

In this strangely captivating series, Fred Sirieix (below) sets two chefs the challenge of replicating iconic snacks.

“Snacks like these deserve the admiration and the respect of fine dining connossieurs,” he says. “But no one appreciates the genius of how they’re made.”

The Wagon Wheel, a treat which first hit lunch boxes in the 1950s, was inspired by American cowboy movies. The chocolate, biscuit and mallow wheels are so popular that Brits eat 125 million a year.

Chefs Tristan Welch and Cyrus Todiwala grapple and stress over their recipes for the final taste test, oblivious to the secret techniques used. Meanwhile Jayde Adams gets a guided tour of the Wagon Wheels factory, revealing how they are made.
