Quay are unlocked and hit rock bottom while Siff climb to third

YAV SIFF moved up to third in the North East Christian Fellowship League Premier Division with a 3-0 win over Bill Quay Community Church.

After going close early on, the Wearsiders took the lead through Ben Anderson, who added a second on the half-hour mark.

Yav Siff made it 3-0 through Lewis Laybourne on the hour.

Bill Quay then created good chances but did not have any cutting edge.

They have now gone five games without a victory and sit bottom of the table.

North Shields Community Christians stay in top spot after a 5-0 success aganst Hillsong Newcastle Football Community.

A goal direct from a corner from Dan Bland on eleven minutes gave the Christians the lead.

Hillsong were awarded a penalty on 27 minutes which was saved and then a goal from the edge of the box from Adrian Wood increased North Shields’ advantage.

Luke Parker made the score 3-0 before half time.

Amin Kashy bagged a brace inside eleven minutes to steer the Christians to a comfortabl­e victory.

Saint Charles RC Church Gosforth held on to second place, seeing off their visitors Jubilee Church Teesside 7-4.

Jubilee started strongly and

James Bridge put them in front but on 28 minutes Andrew Brown equalised.

Saint Charles then scored three goals inside four minutes courtesy of Brown, Lee Twizell and Ben Jackson.

In the second half Jubilee pulled the score back to 4-3 thanks to counters from Joel Henderson and Chrissy Skipper.

Ben Jackson made it 5-3, skipper converting a penalty for Jubilee before Brown secured his hat-trick and Dan Beenshill netted for Saints.
