HUNDREDS of people have paid tribute to a popular 22-year-old who died just days before Christmas.

Mourners lined the streets of Sheriff Hill to pay their respects to Jordan Cruddas, a much-loved lad “who loved life and lived it to the max”.

Jordan’s family say he was found unconscious in his bedroom on December 23 after suffering a bleed on the brain and despite best efforts of paramedics he tragically died.

Today his mum Kellie McGill and aunty Clare McGill paid tribute to their “blue-eyed boy” and thanked his best friend Callum ‘Chunk’ Murphy and his family for organising the best send-off they could have wished for.

Kellie, 42, said: “Jordan was my blueeyed boy, my first-born and I’m absolutely devastated.”

Clare, 38, added: “He was a lovely family lad. He loved his family, his mates and his bikes. He just loved life and he lived it to the max.”

Jordan’s funeral was held at Saltwell Crematorium on Tuesday. Best friend Callum Murphy organised a convoy of quad bikes and taxis outside his home ahead of the funeral to give his friend the best send-off possible. Callum and his family also organised for Jordan’s own quad bike to join the convoy on the back of a trailer.

Clare added: “Callum has been left devastated. He always said Jordan was the brother he never had and he said the shed [where Callum and Jordan spent their free time] will never be the same without him.

“He organised the most amazing send-off for Jordan. We couldn’t have asked for a better send-off and we’ll always be grateful for what he and his family organised for Jordan.”

Jordan first developed his love of quad bikes at the age of four when he would visit bike tracks with his Uncle Rossy.

It was a hobby that bonded Jordan and Callum from childhood.

Kellie and Clare would also like to thank Watson’s Funeral Directors Ltd. and funeral director Gary Thompson, as well as humanist celebrant Val Cranston for Jordan’s service.
