Jolly good result for the Bowman as they progress in the Shield

THE Jolly Bowman edged out The Fat Ox 2-1 in the Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League’s Saints Shield.

Goals for the Jolly Bowman came from Jonathan Coulthard and Peter Ibbertson, Adam Illingwort­h scoring for the Fat Ox.

Newbiggin Sunday were too strong for hosts Blyth Isabella Sunday, triumphing 9-0.

Lee Messenger hit a hat-trick with braces from Ryan Milburn, Kyle Downey and Harry Patterson.

In the Premier Division, Bedlington Social Club beat Newsham and New

Delaval 3-0 thanks to Shay Richardson, Damien Stevens and Andrew McLennen.

Station Lounge won 5-0 against Blyth Town Sunday, Conn Willis and Ryan Clark with two goals each and Matty Nelson completing the scoring.

West Allotment prevailed 5-2 against Bedlington Bank Top.

Strikes for the Allotment came from Ryan Thompson (2), Mitchell Renney, Daryl Basham and Adam

Kierney. On target for the Bank Top were Adam Ord and Tommy Wilkinson.

In the only game in Division One, Stakeford Cherry Tree went goal crazy at home against Ashington Black Rose, winning 12-0.

Jordan Lashley (4), Bradley Higgins (3), Jordan Hancock (2), Cameron Elliott (2) and Jake Nichol were the players on the mark.

■BLAYDON Holmside defeated Stanley Ball Alley 4-1 in Division One of the Consett and District Sunday League.

David Kings, Ross Hughes, Martin Summersett and Shay Dawson netted for Holmside, Jason Herns for Ball Alley.

West Kyo Earl Grey triumphed 5-4 on penalties against Tantobie OakTree in the J and T Grigg Memoiral Trophy after the tie had ended 1-1.

Winalton Real Vulcan squeezed past High Spen Bute Arms 4-3.

However, Catchgate Central enjoyed a big winning margin - coming through 5-1 against Catchgate Community.
