- By ROB KENNEDY Court reporter rob.kennedy@reachplc.com

A murder accused teenager told a court he did not assault the alleged victim and did nothing wrong.

Kyros Robinson and four others are accused of a joint attack on Danny Humble near an underpass in Cramlington, Northumberland, which they all deny. Prosecutors say he was kicked, stamped and punched as he walked home with his partner last May.

Robinson, the fourth defendant to go into the witness box, told jurors he did nothing wrong. He said he heard a 17-yearold talking to Mr Humble and shaking hands with him then heard him making a comment about him looking like Ant and Dec.

He told Newcastle Crown Court he then saw Mr Humble punch the youth in the face and said the 17-year-old threw a punch back but it didn’t connect properly. He said he then saw Ethan Scott punch Mr Humble, who fell onto the grass.

He added: “I saw Alistair (Dickson) on top of Mr Humble and I tried to get him off but it was too late because he was already knocked out on the floor.”

Asked what he did in relation to Mr Humble, he said: “Nothing. I stepped back as soon as I realised he was knocked out on the floor.”

He said he realised he was badly hurt when he was didn’t wake up. His barrister, John Elvidge QC, asked: “Did you punch Mr Humble?” He replied: “No.”

Mr Elvidge asked: “Did you kick Mr Humble?” He said: “No.” Mr Elvidge then asked: “Did you stamp on Mr Humble?” He replied: “No.”

He added that he didn’t want to hurt Mr Humble and didn’t want anyone else to do so. Robinson said he was worried about him when he failed to regain consciousness.

Asked why he had left the scene after around eight minutes, he said: “Because I didn’t want to be associated with what’s just gone on.” Mr Elvidge asked: “Had you done anything wrong?” He replied: “No.”

Robinson added that he was not looking for trouble and didn’t expect the Ant and Dec comment to end up in a fight and added that everyone had been in good spirits.

Robinson admitted lying to police when interviewed, saying he came to an agreement with his dad to say he had not been present at the incident “because of the serious stuff that was going on”.

Robinson, 18, of Woodside Avenue, Seaton Delaval, Ethan Scott, 18, of Chester Grove, Blyth, Alistair Dickson, 18, of Hawkins Way, Blyth, Bailey Wilson, 18, of Mitford Avenue, Blyth and a 17-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, deny murdering Mr Humble in May last year.

The trial continues.
