Mount derby honours go to the A Team

THERE was a convincing 10-0 win for Mount A against Mount B in the Northumbri­a Summer League’s Division One.

The Mount A team of Lee Eadington, Jimmy Scope and Dave Robson proved too strong for Alan Livingston­e, Shirley Gelder and Dave Craddock.

In the match between Prudhoe and Cramlingto­n Stingers the Prudhoe team was up against it from the start asit was only able to field two players.

Andrew Firth gave Prudhoe a good start with a victory over Oliver Ho and Mark O’Connor overcame Rob Reed in a close five-end game.

However, the rest of the matches went to Cramlingto­n who ended up winning 8-2 - Anth Doyle player of the match.

In Division Two there were four close matches.

Cramlingto­n Swifts secured their first success of the season with a 6-4 victory over Ouston.

Richard Williamson was player of the match with three wins for Cramlingto­n including an impressive victory over Bernie Morris - and he combined with Sam Nair to take the doubles.

The match between Durham City

Scorpions and Brandon Anacondas ended in a 5-5 draw which kept Brandon in top place.

Stephen Pattinson was player of the match with three wins for Brandon but Durham City secured the draw with victories for Ian McAllister and Jonathan Mawson over Ian Richardson and Phil Hansom and Duncan Fraser over Hansom.

In their second match of the week Durham City could only field two players.

Despite two wins by Harry Veitch and one by Pete Whitfield, they ended up losing 7-3 to Tyneside.

NECA beat Mount C 6-4 with Ken Lee player of the match for his three wins supported by Will McCallum with victories over Michael Bradley and Joseph MIller.
