Bronze hails Trippier the motivator
KIERAN Trippier has been hailed by Lionesses’ star Lucy Bronze for his motivational words of advice at St George’s Park.
The Newcastle United defender was on hand to offer valued guidance at a recent workshop, with West Ham midfielder Declan Rice also in attendance.
Bronze admits she has high hopes for England this summer, with the UEFA Women’s Euros set to kick off in just over three weeks time.
With the Three Lions reaching the latter stages of the last two major tournaments, Bronze reflected on the Magpies defender’s crucial advice when it comes to receiving abuse online.
She said: “Kieran had a lot of things to say because he is a player who has been at a lot of tournaments before and has had a bit of stick from the media, obviously he played out of position last year.
‘’We were talking about blocking out the outside world and I think that is something I have probably had to deal with more than most players in this England squad over past years.
“It was nice to be able to speak to someone who has had these issues and how they deal with these moments.
‘’We have been in and around St George’s Park with them over the past two weeks, we have chatted to a lot to the England players.”
With Austria, Norway and Northern Ireland in hosts England’s group, Bronze also wants to emulate the men’s team successes, insisting they will do all they can to go that one step further this summer.
She added: ‘’No I wouldn’t settle for just reaching the final.
“I would not take it to penalties, we would win the game in normal time.’’
