Saturday June 25 - strike day AND engineering works

In addition to the strike, engineering work is planned on the lines between Heworth and South Shields and Heworth and South Hylton.

Metro trains will not run on those routes on Saturday.

Rail replacement buses will operate roughly every 20 minutes.

Trains will run to other stations, but not always to the usual timetable.

Sunday June 26 - engineering works but no strike

No Metro trains will run between Heworth-South Shields and Heworth-South Hylton all day on Sunday, June 26 due to pre-planned engineering works. Rail replacement buses will operate every 20 minutes. Expect timetable changes around the network.

Will the Metro trains run elsewhere on the network on strike dates?

Yes, Nexus says Metro services will operate as normal, other than on the Pelaw to South Hylton stretch, today and on Thursday. They will operate this Saturday and Sunday, but the engineering work may result in changes to the timetables.
