A TEENAGER told a court he knows it was wrong to kick Danny Humble but told jurors he didn’t intend to harm him.

Wilson is one of five young men standing trial accused of a joint attack in Cramlington, Northumberland, last May, which they deny.

He told Newcastle Crown Court : “Me or (the youth) said he looked like Ant and Dec for a joke then his girlfriend was laughing, saying ‘he gets it all the time’. They were both laughing about it. There was no bad intention or anything.”

Wilson added: “Then Mr Humble ran up to him and pushed him in the back. (He) turned around and was like ‘what are you doing’. He just replied with a punch, he swung his right arm at him, it connected with (the youth’s) face.”

He said the youth swung his right hand out but he was not sure if it connected.

Wilson continued: “A few seconds later I ran over with Ethan Scott to help him.

“Ethan Scott turned and swung at Mr Humble. That connected with like the side of his face.

“I think he (Mr Humble) took a punch at me so I swung towards him with my right hand but it didn’t hit him.

“He stumbled back onto the floor. He was not flat, he was sitting up. Ethan Scott leaned over him and punched him with his right hand.

Wilson said he stepped back then saw Kyros Robinson “coming from the right of me”. He told the court: “I seen him stamp towards him, towards his upper body, twice.” He said he didn’t see if they connected.

He went on to say: “I noticed the man was not waking up. Adele Stubbs was screaming. I asked what his name was and started shouting ‘Danny’ to try to get a response.”

Kyros Robinson, 18, of Woodside Avenue, Seaton Delaval, Ethan Scott, 18, of Chester Grove, Blyth, Alistair Dickson, 18, of Hawkins Way, Blyth, Bailey Wilson, 18, of Mitford Avenue, Blyth and a 17-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, deny murdering Mr Humble in May last year.
