HI, Sunshine News readers.

We hope you are all well and that you have been able to enjoy our glorious Geordie summer.

This week we are excited to officially launch the return of our Question of Sport event after a two-year break.

Not only will we welcome back our fantastic host, Sky Sports Pete Graves, but we are also thrilled to announce that this year’s event will be in partnership with Lowes Financial, who have been fantastic supporters of The Chronicle Sunshine Fund for many years. Lowes Financial Management is one of the largest privately owned Chartered Independent Financial Advisers in the UK. They have been building successful long-term relationships with clients for 50 years and they are real champions of The North East.

We are the lucky beneficiaries of Lowes clients’ donations, and the team from the Jesmond office have joined us in many events over the years.

This will be the second time Lowes have partnered with us on question of Sport as they were our last sponsors in 2019. Adele Baillie, head of business enhancement and engagement, said: “We are delighted to be supporting this fantastic event again, in support of the wonderful work that The Sunshine Fund does. As we are a North East business, this charity is so close to many of our staff member’s hearts.

“We are looking forward to coming together with other local organisations to compete for the coveted title of ‘Question of Sport winner 2022’ and to raise funds for this fantastic cause.”

Now don’t think that, because you have had a two-year break, Pete and quiz creators Big Purple are going to let you off lightly.

Work has already begun on this year’s quiz, which will include an allnew for 2022 North East Round and, over at Big Purple HQ, Sam and the team have been working hard to ensure this will be our best quiz yet.

Past winners have included Natwest and KPMG but there’s strong competition from our newcomers this year, including St James Square and new to the Toon Arctic Wolf, who have already been swotting up and tactically choosing their team-mates.

There’ll be some familiar faces in the room on the night as we will be joined by local sporting legends both past and present. If you would like to join us for this prestigious event on Thursday, November 24 at The grand Hotel Gosforth, tickets are now on sale and you can get full details on our website, www.thesunshinefund.org/qos
