1 TERMINATOR: DARK FATE Tonight, Channel 4, 9pm
Mexico City resident Daniella Ramos
(Natalia Reyes) is, unknowingly, the touchpaper of a powerful resistance, which will retaliate against the machines in the years to come. Daniella is targeted for extermination by Legion, an artificial intelligence created in the future for cyber warfare. Luckily Daniella has an augmented human soldier named Grace (Mackenzie Davis) on her side. Grizzled, gun-toting Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), who has dedicated her life to eliminating the mechanised monstrosities, enters the fray, but must rely on a retired T-800 unit (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to complete the mission.
2 EMMA Tomorrow, BBC1, 8pm
Emma Woodhouse (Anya Taylor-Joy, left) reassures her father (Bill Nighy) that she has no intention of contriving her own love match. However, she still interferes in matters of the heart, moulding the romantic prospects of new acquaintance Harriet Smith (Mia Goth), in this faithful treatment of Jane Austen’s 1815 novel.
3 GET CARTER Monday, ITV4, 9pm
Jack Carter (Michael Caine, left) isn’t a happy man. He’s not the sort you should cross either. When his brother is killed in their hometown of Newcastle, Jack journeys north to take revenge. Vindictive, ruthless and determined to get his man, he investigates the area’s underworld in this gritty, low-budget masterpiece.
4 I, ROBOT Tuesday, GREAT! movies, 9pm
When a robot named Sonny (voiced by Alan Tudyk) is accused of murdering his creator, the legendary Dr Alfred Lanning (James Cromwell), maverick Chicago Police detective Spooner (Will Smith, left) is called in to investigate. I, Robot is an involving dystopian fantasy, which marries a taut plot to eye-popping special effects.
5 MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS Wednesday, BBC1, 10.50pm
In 1561, a Protestant queen, Elizabeth I (Margot Robbie), rules England. Her power is threatened by the return of 18-year-old Catholic cousin Mary Stuart (Saoirse Ronan, left) from France. While figures close to the Scottish queen plot against her, men in Elizabeth’s court try to manoeuvre their monarch on to a path of civil war.
6 WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? Thursday, BBC4, 9pm
In this drama, Bette Davis (left) plays ‘Baby’ Jane Hudson, a child actor who grew up to be eclipsed by her movie star sister Blanche (Joan Crawford). However, Blanche’s career was cut short when she was paralysed in a car accident, and for decades the siblings have lived in virtual isolation, to the detriment of Jane’s mental state.
7 CHARLIE’S ANGELS Friday, Channel 4, 11.05pm
In this reboot of the TV drama, scientist Elena Houghlin (Naomi Scott) contacts the Townsend Agency to provide evidence about an energy conservation device that risks public health. The meeting doesn’t go as planned and Elena is left for dead. She is rescued by a pair of Angels (Ella Balinska and Kristen Stewart, left with Scott).
