WEST Allotment Celtic will travel to Redcar Athletic on Saturday to face a Steelmen side boosted by the arrival of former Spennymoor Town midfielder Mark Anderson.

The former Sunderland academy man brought an end to his eight-year stay at Brewery Field last month and could make his debut on Saturday.

After signing an 18-month deal, he told the club website: “It’s an exciting time for myself and the club. After deciding to leave Spennymoor after eight years, I wanted to play for a club that has ambition and wants to progress. Knowing the management team and a few of the players makes the transition a lot easier.

“We need to finish the season strong. It’s all about winning and that’s the mentality we need.”
