Harry to keep his cool ahead of Wolverhampton

-

ICE Cool Harry should feel the benefit of his recent return as he lines up in the BETUK. Home Of The Acca-fenwa Handicap at Wolverhampton.

Clive Cox’s charge took a couple of runs to get off the mark last year and after winning on the Lingfield turf in June, he could not quite build on that, with his closing effort at Newmarket in August particularly lacklustre.

Given a lengthy break following that, Ice Cool Harry resumed his career at Southwell last month, showing potential in finishing a two-length fourth in what was admittedly an average-looking heat.

His effort can be upgraded though as he was slowly away and a subsequent 1lb dip in the weights is another positive factor.

Bloodhound was up against a seemingly impossible task conceding 26lb to a decent debut winner in Kalpana on his return to action last month.

Off the track since June, when he was pulled up after reportedly losing his action at Salisbury, Bloodhound carried 10st 2lb against Kalpana’s 8st 4lb over the same extended mile he faces here.

Unsurprisingly, that top weight proved beyond his capabilities after a long absence but his seven-and-a-quarterlength third offered a glimmer of hope for the BETMGM: It’s Showtime Novice Stakes.

Bitcoin Profit can give trainer Henry Spiller a perfect send-off in the Betsi Handicap at Chelmsford.

Spiller hands in his licence after the three-year-old competes, with Bitcoin Profit having posted an encouraging second of late and seemingly primed to strike gold in a contest like this.

He got a bit tight for room at the finish when beaten a length and a half at Southwell and a similar effort would put him in the mix again.

Killer Kane is one to watch as he turns out in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap Chase at Kempton following a wind operation.

Killer Kane’s fellow Joe Tizzard-trained runner Pedley Wood should also be on the mark at the Sunbury venue.
