COMICS AND FILM NEWS

-

First it was stray dogs that broke the hearts of comic readers, now it’s the turn of felines.

Feral is a new horror tale from writer Tony Fleecs. It follows the fortunes of Elsie, Lord Fluffy Britches, and Patch, three indoor cats lost in the not-so-great outdoors during a nightmarish rabies outbreak.

With no owners to protect them, the cosseted cats must find their way home before they’re eaten by a forest full of infected beasts.

Feral #1 is out now, priced £3.90. Keep an eye out for variant covers.

JOHN CONSTANTINE: HELLBLAZER: DEAD IN AMERICA #1

Fans remain invested in seeing Keanu Reeves return to the big screen as John Constantine – even if he doesn’t have the Scouse accent.

The Hellblazer remains as popular as ever, as is proven by Dead in America getting a second reprinting. The 2020 run marked the Constantine debut of writer Si Spurrier and artist Aaron Campbell, and reintroduced the character to a new generation of comic fans.

Something terrible has taken root in America, and it’s using the sand from Dream’s pouch to impose its will.

If John can put a stop to it, he might be able to save lives, but he’ll need help from someone he hasn’t spoken to in years.

Out now, priced £4.90.

STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE: ECHOES

There’s a Star Trek-sized hole in my TV schedule as the third season of Strange New Worlds is filmed.

But while we wait to rejoin Captain Pike for more adventures, jump into this story following the original series crew of the USS Enterprise.

Set soon after the events of The Motion Picture, it sees Kirk and co thrust into danger when a bounty hunter arrives in their universe.

Gathering together all the issues from last year’s comic run, the beautiful hardback is out now, priced £17.99.
