WHAT another great week it has been for our charity with our kind and generous supporters dropping off many donations for the animals currently in our care. This week our shelters are appealing for kitten food and scratch posts. Whilst in our care we like all our residents to have their own space and lots of playtime. Toys, scratch posts and interactive games all come in extremely handy, especially for our more energetic residents.

Apparently today is take a walk in the park day. So, in true charity spirit we are going to take the humour in the day and see how many of our readers and supporters we can get to join us on this healthy happy day! Speaking of happy, some of our doggy residents will soon be extremely happy once our new agility equipment arrives in April. After a fantastic fundraising initiative from Tesco and Pedigree we were extremely lucky to be receiving brand new jumps, frames and tunnels all to help our residents stay fit, healthy and give them a little more to do. As April draws near we are still prepping some of our dogs to take part in an agility show on our funday, showing how amazing rescue dogs can really be.

Not long now until the Easter holidays are here and lots of parents and grandparents are looking for activities to take part in with their young. Our rehoming centre is always popular during the holidays for a wander and a look at our many animals. We also have our permanent residents who children can see and sometimes even stroke.

After the many changes implemented within the charity over the past few years we are extremely excited to say our logo has had a little facelift. No longer the green it once was we have turned light turquoise and we all love it. This vibrant new colour sums up the direction we are heading in and the bright new lives we are looking for, for our residents. Bert dog no 669 is a friendly little black and tan terrier cross approximately 9 months old. An extremely lively and happy boy whose mission in life is to play, play and play. With Bert only being a pup he will need someone with the time to work on his training as currently he does not understand any commands, although he will come straight to you for a treat. As he is such an excitable boy who does ‘bounce’ we would recommend a family with older children and who have time to play and give him the attention he needs. Billy cat no 461 is a stunning black domestic short haired tomcat with beautiful green eyes. A gentle, quiet natured cat, initially quite shy but does come around quickly. Billy loves being stroked as he enjoys the attention, not so much a sit on your knee type of cat but loves nothing more than lying in his bed or on the sofa.
