Cup success just Taylor made for Labour squad

WALLSEND Labour retained The Charlie Taylor Cup, Ryan Errington and Scott McLaughlin their scorers in a 2-0 success over Newcastle Jubilee.

Blakelaw Social’s 2-0 victory over Benwell Sports ensures the Premier Division Championship between themselves and Greenside will be decided by the final game.

Springbank Social defeated Westfield Social 2-1 and Walker Jubilee drew 4-4 with St Peters Social Johnathon Wright hitting a hat-trick and Mark McDonnell bagging a brace.

In B Division Fairholm Social prevaield 5-3 against Heaton Meadowfield, who they will also meet in the Harry Oxley Cup final, and Gosforth Empire came through 6-4 at Wallsend Comrades.

Nick Smith and David Bale both notched twice and David Angier hit a hat-trick for Empire.

Daisy Hill East End triumphed 7-4 at Hillheads, Abu Salim notching five goals and Ryan Frazer with a double for Hillheads.

Only two games were played in C Division.

42nd Street defeated Stags Head head 5-1, Karl Morrison scoring twce.

Newton Park drew 4-4 at High Howdon Social - Derek Lowson and Jack Johnson both bagging braces.

In D Division, Blue Bell overcame West End Tigers 6-2 and Wallsend Town won 4-1 at Barking Dog.

Pinnacle were 2-1 victors at Queens Head while Grainger Park accounted for West Allotment Social 5-0 - Andrew Thompson (3) and Steven Knox (2) the scorers.

Marlborough Social beat Balloon 7-2, Kevin Porter and Dan Fullen both netting twice.
