Blayd sharp in defeating Burnopfiel­d

BURNOPFIEL­D entertaine­d Blaydon in the Northumber­land and Tyneside Senior League’s Tyneside League.

They decided to bat first making 133-1 with both openers Matthew Oswell and Daniel Hutton scoring half-centuries.

Blaydon also had two half-centurions in Ross Greenwell and Josh Burke and they knocked the runs off (134-0) with 13 balls to spare.

Consett entertaine­d Tynedale and batted first, totalling just 53-7 - Matthew Kerswell top-scoring with 19.

There were two wickets apiece for James Percival and Sam Peter.

Tynedale openers Nick Ryan (20 not out) and Matthew Percival (33 not out) put on an unbroken partnershi­p of 54 to win the game.

Lanchester travelled to Lintz, won the toss and asked the homeside to bat first.

Lintz were 70 all out, Joseph Metcalf and Josh Clennell both scoring 19 and there were three wickets apiece for Chris Tully and Francis Guthrie.

Lanchester lost two wickets in making the runs required, Owen Shield with 47 not out.

Stocksfiel­d totalled 114-3 when they batted first in their match at Tynedale.

Opening bat Jonny Tobin top-scored with 48 not out.

Tynedale then knocked off those runs in attaining 115-3, Euan Stephenson (46) and Oliver Fletcher (45) contributi­ng the necessary runs.

Stocksfiel­d conceded their game against Greenside. ■■SACRISTON amassed an impressive 204-3 against South Shields in Division One of the Durhan Cricket Board’s Under-18 League.

Dominic Scott celebrated an unbeaten knock of 101 and Matthew Brown added 40.

South Shields also batted very well in posting 141-6, Adam May hitting 42 not out and Tommy Bell claiming 3-12.

Boldon batted first at Chesterle-Street and reached 114-5, Oliver Simpson-Barnes contributi­ng 41.

However, Scott Robson (47) and Luke Allen (52 not out) easily knocked off the runs.

Peterlee totalled 135-6 at Easington Ben Brown scoring 71. In their reply, Easington slumped to 47-8.
