Greenside go on run spree against Lintz

GREENSIDE racked up a massive score of 162-1 in their Go North East Northumber­land and Tyneside Senior League Under-15 Division game with Lintz.

Tom Lugsden made 50, as did Dylan Murray.

Lintz responded with 93-5, Adam Murphy top-scoring with 35 not out.

Beamish and East Stanley entertaine­d Blaydon and struggled to attain 55-9.

A tremendous spell of bowling from Will Batey, claiming 5-4 in his four overs, stopepd them in their tracks.

Ben Lamb then struck 22 not out to steer his side to victory in a total of 56-4.

Lanchester entertaine­d Whickham and batted first, reaching 100-7 - Charlie McPhail making the highest score of 17, although extras were totalled at 29.

In reply, Whickham were defeated by excellent bowling from Daniel Arthur, Simon Kime and Charlie McPhail, who each recorded two wickets to restrict them to 63-9.

South North amassed 197-4 at Leadgate, which proved too much for the home side - who finished on 60-6. ■■SUNDERLAND could only manage 84-5 against hosts Sacriston in Group Two of the Durham Cricket Board’s Ken Ferguson Memorial Trophy.

Matthew Heywood top-scored with 21, Ellis Horner claiming 2-7 off his four overs.

Sacriston easily knocked off the runs required, opener Jonny Bushnell contributi­ng 50 not out in the process - including nine fours.

Washington entertaine­d Sacriston and the visitors batted first and made 150-2, thanks to Jonny Bushnell (53no) and Benjamin Jackson (50no), Jack Adams contributi­ng 30.

Sacriston totalled 49-2 when they batted, Tom Langer topscoring with 18 not out. ■■IN Group Two of the Don Lyons Memorial Trophy, Felling were all out for just 50 in their home game with South Shields.

Shields then knocked off the runs for the loss of no wickets in just 6.3 overs. ■■ESH Winning posted 167-5 against Ushaw Moor in the Bob Pendlebury Cup, Nathan Todd contributi­ng 52 not out.

In reply, Ushaw Moor managed to amass 101-9.
