Maybe the problem is low pay?

-

PEOPLE often complain about the so-called high earnings of some local authority workers and their ability to do a good job.

Well, maybe the problem is that these jobs don’t attract the right people because the pay is too low and other conditions aren’t good enough.

After all, we are consistently told that in the private sector the best pay and conditions have to be offered to attract ‘the best.’ Why should this outlook not apply to local authority workers and in fact others in the public sector?

You never know, it might stop senior people at HMRC who make the rules and regulations on tax leaving to work in the financial sector for organisations that offer devices to big business on how to get around these very same rules and regulations.
