The Chronicle’s Wish campaign is back for the seventh year running, handing out £25,000 to worthy causes across the North East.

Here’s all you need to know if you’re thinking about entering this year.

Q: Could my group benefit from Wish?

A: If you’re a not-for-profit group or organisation benefiting the Tyneside and/ or the Northumberland community, absolutely you are eligible to apply.

Q: What sort of groups take part in Wish?

A: All sorts, from sports groups to animal charities, schools to Scouts, charities to church group, Wish is the ideal way to boost the coffers with vital extra cash. Q: How does my group apply? A: Fill in the online form on chroniclelive.co.uk/wish but don’t delay because registration closes on Monday, September 25.

Q: How will I know if my group has been accepted?

A: We will confirm via email and a Wish pack will be made available for you to collect from the Chronicle offices in the Groat Market, Newcastle.

Q: When will tokens start running in the paper? A: Wednesday, October 11, with the last token appearing on Saturday, January 6. You will then have until 5pm on Tuesday, February 6 to submit them. Q: What happens if other groups collect more tokens? A: The beauty of Wish is that everyone gets something. But while there are no losers, the more tokens you collect, the bigger your group’s share of the £2a5,000 will be. Q: When will we know how much cash we’ve received? A: After all the tokens have been counted and the money allocated, we will publish all the details as to who is getting what in a special Wish supplement which will appear in The Chronicle on Tuesday, February 27.
