WINDSCALE won for only the second time this season - 2-1 against Annfield Plain.
Richmond Town capitalised on Plain’s defeat by leapfrogging them into seventh with a 2-1 victory over Darlington Reserves.
Simon Pinkey scored on his Town debut as they secured all three points.
A number of league clubs were in Durham Trophy action.
In an all-Gateshead affair, Leam Rangers surprised Gateshead A with a 1-0 victory,
Silksworth CW and Sunderland Hall Farm required penalties to settle their tie. Nicky Smith was among the goals for Silky as it ended 1-1 after 120 minutes.
His side then kept its cool with a 4-2 success in the shootout.
Birtley Town drew 2-2 with Hartlepool at the end of extra time before narrowly emerging victorious 5-4 on spot kicks.
Sunderland West continued their fine form with a fourth victory in a row - this time at Harton and Westoe CW.
West End went in front after six minutes when Anthony Ross found the net.
Twenty minutes later, two strikes in six minutes from Lee Smith and Adam Drysdale enabled the visitors to race into a 3-0 advantage by the break.
Harton and Westoe were much improved in the second period but still slipped to a 4-0 defeat.
Coxhoe Athletic put five past South Shields in a 5-2 result.
Phil Best notched twice for Athletic as they condemned the Mariners to defeat.
