Re­porter DO you fancy help­ing lo­cal chil­dren and hav­ing a laugh while you do it?

Well it’s time to dust off those ugly Christ­mas jumpers to raise money for The Sun­shine Fund.

The char­ity ded­i­cate their time to fundrais­ing to buy spe­cial­ist equip­ment for dis­abled chil­dren and they are right in the midst of their Christ­mas ap­peal.

The aim is to raise £30,000 through­out the fes­tive pe­riod to sup­port Hadrian School in Ben­well, New­cas­tle, which pro­vides spe­cial­ist ed­u­ca­tion for chil­dren aged be­tween two and 11 with a range of ad­di­tional needs in­clud­ing com­plex and se­vere learn­ing dif­fi­cul­ties.

The school has re­cently had fund­ing ap­proved to de­velop a new, fully ac­ces­si­ble Re­bound Ther­apy Cen­tre that can be used by all pupils in order to de­velop
