Pity for the football fall guy

HAVING zero interest in football, I am always at a loss to understand why, when a team is losing every match, it’s the manager that gets the boot.

Surely all the owner needs to do is get all the players together and, using small words as they are only footballers and not rocket scientists, explain the facts to them as follows: “You don’t win, you don’t get money.”

That should work. They could follow it up with “You get red card, you pay club one week’s money.” Sorted!
