We’re driven to getting an online bargain

A SURVEY into online shopping habits revealed 10% of North East people did so while driving.

The result, which should cause concern about road safety and accidents, was the highest in the UK which has an average figure of 3%.

Researchers discovered that people in the region were the most likely to complete purchases while on holiday (20%).

Meanwhile, 20% of them also said they did their online shopping on the toilet, the second highest figure in the country.

And 60% of those asked in the region said they would shop online to take advantage of sales, again the highest in the country.

However, 10% said that getting drunk made them shop online, the third highest UK figure.

The research was carried out by British Online Marketplace OnBuy. com and is based on figures from the Office for National Statistics.

The data was collected via a survey, in which 1,550 people were asked about their online shopping routines. The survey also revealed 22% of people said they spent less than 15 minutes online shopping, while 47% spend up to 30 minutes.
