Council planning a load of rubbish

-

SUNDERLAND City Council have just announced on their website that the bins they failed to empty will not now be emptied for an entire month.

That means we’ve gone from fortnightly collections to a monthly collection. This is at a time when they plan to increase the Council Tax so the people can pay for the government’s cuts to the policing budget.

As always under a Tory government, you pay more for the services that you don’t get. With services cut to the bone, there is no room to manoeuvre in emergency situations such as the recent bad weather.

I’ve long thought that Sunderland Council is useless. The main road through my village is Castle Road.

It was not gritted and as a result I saw cars mount the pavement as they skidded on the compacted snow. Sunderland Council have failed in every aspect of this crisis.
