No stroll in Park for Blagdon

BLAGDON Park’s lead at the top was cut down to a point after they lost at home to Whickham by five wickets.

Blagdon quickly slumped to 7-3 – but recovered before being bowled out for 150 as Scott Richardson finished with 4-38.

They fought back with the ball but Matthew Rodger (22 not out) and Richardson (24 not out) guided Whickham to 152-5 after 43 overs – and they moved up to third.

GEMs climbed into second place with a 150-run home win over bottom side Whitley Bay.

Zhoaib Shahid smashed 19 fours and two sixes in his 114 before GEMs were all out for 257.

Bay managed only 107 in reply, Syed Mehdi ending with 3-19.

Warkworth moved up to fourth after their 10-run sucess at home to second-bottom Bomarsund.
