THERE are, it has to be conceded, more than a couple of apps on the App Store that will superimpose falling rain or drifting snow onto your videos. But none of them are as good as this one.

Why, you ask? Because this one is an AR app.

What that means is the snow falls as if it’s falling in real space – it doesn’t move when you move the camera, but continues to fall in the same place in the scene, so it looks way more realistic than the others I have seen.

Flakes comes with five effects – confetti, bokeh (blur effect), snow, sparkles and hearts, but you can pay for more, and remove the watermark and ads for 99p.

If you use apps that do this kind of thing to make your own videos stand out from the crowd, you should take a look... before everyone else does.
