DRESSED TO IMPRESS

WHICH CELEBRITIES EARNED STYLE POINTS THIS WEEK?

IT HAS been a busy few days for the royals. On Monday, we had the christening of Prince Louis at St James Palace. As ever, the Duchess of Cambridge was her usual uberpolished self – not a whiff of baby sick or eye bags for this mother of three.

Kate turned to her favourite designer for the occasion, opting for a cream number by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, just as she did for the baptisms of her first two children Prince George and Princess Charlotte. But if it ain’t broke don’t fix it and the dress went beautifully with the royal christening gown, a replica of the one commissioned by Queen Victoria for her firstborn, Princess Victoria, in 1841.

Then, on Tuesday, Kate joined the Queen and other senior royals for the RAF centenary service at Westminister Abbey in a baby blue dress designed by... you guessed it McQueen, which the Honorary Air Commandant of the RAF accessorised with an Air Cadets Dacre brooch and Sean Barrett hat.

While Kate stuck to her go-to designer, her new sister-in-law, who wore a custommade olive green Ralph Lauren dress for Prince Louis’ christening, opted for a New Look at the RAF service – quite literally.

The Duchess of Sussex’s bespoke Christian Dior was cut to the designer’s signature 1950s silhouette. Teamed with a hat from Stephen Jones, who is rapidly becoming Meghan’s man for millinery, it was simple yet stunning.
