The Bishop of Portsmouth ded­i­cated a Chris­tian re­flec­tive area in a C of E school near Ha­vant last Thurs­day (22 May), com­plet­ing phase two of a £50,000 Out­door Learn­ing Area project. The Rt Rev Christo­pher Fos­ter for­mally opened the wor­ship cir­cle at St John’s CEC Pri­mary School in Row­lands Cas­tle that the chil­dren named Gar­den of Peace. It is a quiet, spir­i­tual re­flec­tion area in a nat­u­ral set­ting. Pupils worked with land­scape plan­ners and ar­chi­tects to de­sign the out­door ar­eas. The project was sup­ported by the lo­cal church, St John’s, and also by the Angli­can Dio­cese of Portsmouth. It al­lo­cated £3,000 from its mis­sion budget to­wards the £15,000 re­flec­tive area.
