ST CYRUS: St Cyrus Flower Show is to hold a garden competitio­n next week.

Entries should be in by Friday to Sandy Davidson on 01674 850016 or Kathleen Masson on 01674 850277.

Categories are best overall garden, best flower garden, vegetable garden, container, water feature, best kept garden and wildlife garden.

The flower show will be held on Sunday August 14 in the village hall and entrants must live in St Cyrus.

ARBROATH: Knox’s and St Vigeans ‘Strollers’, for people who like to walk with others, takes place on Saturday August 6.

The walk along the nature trail starts from the hall at 1.30pm and will be followed by a cup of tea.

KIRRIEMUIR: Ryan Kopel is to headline a show staged by Kirriemuir Rotary Club for Nepal on Saturday August 13.

Ryan graduated from the Musical Theatre Course at the Dance School for Scotland in Glasgow in 2015 and began his first of three years of training on the BA (Hons) Musical Theatre Course at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London.

Also performing are Finlay Paul, Mirren Mack, Stephanie Eadie, Niamh Gormley, Verity Power, Aaron Millar, Eilidh Loan, Chris Foley, Spencer Wilson, Katie Weir, Charlie Fisher, Aiden Harkins, Francesca Smith, Keira Murray and Rhiannon Cura.

Rising Young Stars will also take to the stage with tickets priced £12 or £15 from the Flower Shop or by calling 0785038470­0.

A talk from the Himalayan Gurkhas will take place on Tuesday in the Glens and Kirriemuir Old Parish Church at 7.30pm.

A cream tea morning will be held in the Town Hall on Saturday August 13 from 10am– noon.
