Company-Sergt Major Beverley, Newtyle, who has had a long and honourable association with the Volunteer and Territorial movements, enjoyed one of the proudest days of his life on Saturday, when he was publicly presented with the DCM amongst his “ain folk” by the Earl of Strathmore. The Earl, before pinning the medal on the breast of GSM Beverley, said it was a duty he had undertaken with the greatest pleasure because Newtyle had for a long time been connected with Glamis in a military sense.
