Thought of everything
“Recently on a cruise to Iceland,” writes Bob Macdonald of Abernethy, “my wife and booked up for a full day excursion which took in most of the ‘must see’ attractions.
“The description of the tour warned that, at some of the stops, a charge of 200 Icelandic krona could be charged for a comfort stop – which, at roughly 150 to the pound, sounded a bit steep. We were pleased to find that excellent toilet facilities were mostly free.
“Lunch included a drink and I opted for a bottle of light beer. It was just my luck when the call of nature came that we were at the only stop where there was no alternative but to pay the charge.
“Reluctantly I dropped two 100 krona coins into the slot, having come prepared with the necessary change. I needn’t have worried – there was an option to pay by credit card!”
