Tall order for Rossie Priory

-

Arrowdawn Gordonians will not be adding promotion to their Strathmore and Perthshire NEC title, the CS Challenge Cup and the 3 Counties Cup successes.

They have declined the play-off spot which would have pitched them against SMRH or RHC.

The team will be seriously depleted next season and officials decided they did not want to compete in a higher division.

They have one more match to play, at Countesswells, facing

ROSSIE PRIORY – whose fate lies in the machinations of the relegation of Stoneywood Dyce and the promotion from the lower leagues.

Gordonians will be looking to preserve the record which has seen them lose only one match out of 13 this season so far.

The play-off spot has been offered and accepted by Meigle, who will play one of the two Edinburgh clubs.

When ARBROATH took on Mannofield at Lochlands back in June, the match produced a total of 200 runs played out over 60 overs, so whether the prospect of a dead rubber will have either side bursting at the seams remains to be seen.

An even lower total of runs was on offer to the casual observer at FORTHILL when the home side took on tomorrow’s opponents Stoneywood Dyce earlier in the season. Forthill had them all back in the pavilion for 54, then passed that total by one run thus ensuring that the scorer didn’t have to record three figures for the whole afternoon, so will travel to People’s Park with obvious bragging rights.

As with the top versus bottom clash between Arrowdawn Gordonians and Rossie Priory,

MEIGLE travel to DUNDEE without a league result between them this season.

The same can be said about STRATHMORE, who host PERTH DOO’COT, although they were 59-8 before the rain intervened at Doo’cot Park.
