Funbox: Superheroes

Perth Concert Hall August 27

- David pollock www.funbox.co.uk

The spirit of The Singing Kettle lives on in Funbox, a touring troupe of performers who offer a more contemporary take on children’s’ theatre entertainment.

Gary Coupland, Anya Scott-Rodgers and Kenny Macleod were all formerly Singing Kettle performers, and in 2014 they formed Funbox along similar lines, as a storytelling show with plenty of fun songs and audience participation for smaller children and their families.

Superheroes is the trio’s first hit show, and it’s already achieving a kind of cute cult status with audiences.

The gang appear with their regular accomplice Bonzo the dog, whose superhero alter-ego is Dog in Pants, and they bring a bunch of hard-to-forget songs to get inside their audience’s minds, including Bunny Fou Fou, My Boy’s a Corker and My Aunt Came Back.

We suspect you’ll be singing them all by the end.
