Reflections on Celts
The McManus: Dundee’s Art Gallery and Museum September 1 – December 5
Holding a mirror up to history can often be the best way to find out about the present.
And this analogy will take on a whole new meaning when two Iron Age mirrors are displayed in Dundee as part of a major touring exhibition on the Celts.
Reflections on Celts, a spotlight tour, features the British Museum’s Holcombe mirror and National Museums Scotland’s Balmaclellan mirror – which tell very different stories, and help modern day historians understand communities in Britain 2,000 years ago. The mirrors are supplemented by key objects from The McManus’ collection which will explore the history of the Celts in Dundee and the surrounding area.
Highlights include a stunning 3D visualisation of the Dundee Law as never seen before.
