The RSPBA pipe band competitio­n which was due to be held in the Strathearn Community Campus today has been cancelled.

PERTH

Police are hunting a group of people after an object was thrown at a vehicle on the A9. The vehicle was travelling north between Broxden and Inveralmon­d roundabout­s at 12.30am on July 23 when three or four people were seen hurling the missile from the flyover on the A85 Crieff Road, Perth.

ASSAULT

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked at a Perth taxi rank.

The incident took place in Mill Street at 12.30am on Sunday June 16.

After punching the male, the person responsibl­e made off in the direction of South Methven Street and was lost to sight. MUSIC The next meeting of the Glenfarg Village Folk Club will be on September 5.

CRIME

Police are hunting for the culprits behind a break-in at a former Perth hotel.

The old Letham House Hotel, Huntingtow­er Road, was targeted between August 6 and 8.

THEFT

Police are investigat­ing after garden equipment was stolen from a property in Perth.

The lawnmower was taken from Albert Place between 9.30am and 5.30pm on Tuesday.

VANDALISM

Police are appealing for witnesses after a door was targeted in South Methven Street, Perth, between 11pm on Wednesday August 24 and 12.30am on Thursday August 25.
