Anticipation as design charrette organisers reveal their findings

-

The conversation continues in Kirriemuir today, with organisers of the town’s design charrette revealing their findings.

Focusing on Kirriemuir’s past, present and future the project to deliver a long-term vision and strategy for the town centre began earlier this month.

Kirrie Talks has prompted debate, discussion and ideas within the community.

Today’s event will allow people to hear the proposals for their town’s future at first hand, put forward more ideas and ask questions.

Now the design team will report back to the community at their studio at Kirrie Connections, 5 Bank Street, DD8 4BE.

There will be an exhibition at the design studio from 2pm to 6pm and is open for anyone to drop in and see the emerging ideas generated through the charrette.

Engagement arts organisation WAVEparticle will also be showing a director’s cut of the film they produced in and around the town between 6pm and 6.30pm.

This will be followed by the Report Back presentation from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, which will also include community Pecha Kucha presentations at 7pm (Pecha Kucha is a format where discussion is encouraged around 20 images that are shown for 20 seconds each).

Developed by Angus Council and facilitated by a team of experts in town planning, architecture, property development and community regeneration, the charrette’s aim is to provide a detailed view of the town’s existing and possible future services, including housing, retail, leisure and tourism. For more details see the charrette’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
