Shop fronts the focus of Kirrie CARS seminar
The conservation and repair of traditional shop fronts is the focus of an upcoming Kirriemuir CARS seminar.
Dr Lindsay Lennie will give a talk on the subject at the town’s Old Parish Church Hall from 6pm to 8.30pm next Tuesday.
The event is part of the Kirriemuir Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme’s 2016 training programme in traditional building skills.
Kirriemuir CARS is a partnership between Angus Council and Historic Scotland to fund a grant programme aimed at enhancing the appearance of Kirriemuir Conservation Area.
Dr Lennie has more than 20 years’ experience as a chartered surveyor, including 10 years specialising in the conservation of historic retail buildings.
She has also written widely on the subject, including Scotland’s Shops and Traditional Shop fronts: A short guide for building owners, both published by Historic Environment Scotland.
Case studies of conservation and repair projects will feature in Dr Lennie’s talk which is free.
