Plenty of events to keep people amused in the Angus area
FASHION: Art Moves is holding a charity fashion show by Encore of Fettercairn at the Meadowbank Inn, Montrose Road, Arbroath on October 7.
Doors open 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Tickets, priced £8, are available on the door and include a glass of wine.
KIRRIEMUIR: Kirrie Macmillan Cancer support group raised £1,046 from a successful pop up shop in the town.
The group extends its gratitude to all those who donated and helped.
CLUBS: Montrose Horticultural Society will hold its annual general meeting on Monday October 17 at 7pm in the Band Hall, Queen’s Close. New committee members welcome. For further information contact 01674 830433. CARNOUSTIE: Church of the Holy Rood in Maule Street is holding a book sale and coffee morning on Saturday in the church hall from 10am.
All monies raised will go towards church funds.
ARBROATH: A public talk on the industrial paternalism of Arbroath factory owners in Mid-Victorian Arbroath will be delivered by William Ferguson Clark at the Signal Tower Museum on Tuesday, October 11 at 2pm.
Mr Clark worked in the engineering industry all his life and after he retired he studied for a history degree with the Open University.
The talk will last an hour and will focus on the paternalistic attitude of some of the Arbroath factory owners.
Admission to the museum is free but booking is essential as spaces are limited.
