-

Montrose Royal Artillery Army Cadet Force has been attending a young firefighters programme at Montrose Fire Station.

The programme consisted of hose handling, equipment familiarisation, teamwork, communication skills and fire safety around the house including fire action plans.

Cadets were also given training in practical firefighting, moving around in smoke and darkness and CPR skills.

All subjects were covered through theory lessons and practical exercises with the cadets being put through their paces.

The cadet force is currently looking to recruit new cadets aged 12–18 years old who can attend Broomfield Road on Monday nights between 7 and 9.
