Bluebells fight back

-

Dundonald Bluebell had to come from behind at Carmuirs Park against Camelon in the Super League to earn a point.

Jason Quin scored from the spot on 17 minutes before Lewis McKenzie made it 2-0. Camelon stormed back to lead 3-2 before Callum Young earned a point for Stevie Kay’s Bluebell.

Thornton Hibs closed the gap with Blairgowrie at the top of the North Division as they beat East Craigie 2-0 at Memorial Park. Chris Ireland and Garry Thomson were on the mark.

In the South Division Kirkcaldy YM had to fight back twice to earn a point in a 2-2 derby draw against Crossgates Primrose.

Nathan Tosh put Vics in front on nine minutes before a bizarre own goal made it 2-0 on 21 minutes, Vics keeper Ally McInnes parried a cross from deep only to see the ball rebound off Jordan Boyd and go back past him into his own net.

Tosh then made it 3-0 on 35 minutes to send the home side in at half-time with a foot already in the next round.

The visitors rallied but could only score a late consolation through substitute Kris Kerr.

A barnstorming second-half performance from 10-man Carnoustie Panmure saw the Gowfers come back from a goal down to defeat a tough Kello Rovers side in Dumfries and Galloway.

Panmure had Jamie Robbie sent off midway through the first half for a last man foul outside the box, with Alan Cormack having to come on for his first appearance of the season.

The home side then took the lead just before the break.

Whatever Panmure manager Alan McSkimming said to his side worked as a great fightback saw Steven Cook bundle home the equaliser on 74 minutes and six minutes later Gordon Macdonald scored his third goal in three games to put his side into the third round.

Arbroath Vics have certainly upped their game in this season’s Scottish Cup and were a little unlucky not to at least have earned a replay against managerless Whitburn at Ogilvy Park.

Rikki Gillespie and Charlie Wilson saw Vics lead 2-0 after 20 minutes before Gary Brass scored before the break and again five minutes after to draw his side level.

Callum Robertson then scored twice in two minutes, on 74 and 76, to put the visitors in front.

Corey McCulloch gave Vics hope on 83 minutes and the home side threw everything they had at the Premier League team but couldn’t manage an equaliser.

Forfar West End boss Daryl McKenzie will doubtless be disappointed with his side’s home exit at the hands of Culter, especially when they played 77 minutes against 10 men.

The Aberdeen side had Sam McGregor sent off on 13 minutes for a last man offence but took a deserved lead on 34 minutes through Andy Anderson.

Derek McKechnie made sure of the victory with Culter’s second on 71 minutes.

A Kevin Milne goal midway through the second half was enough to see Downfield past Highland visitors Nairn St Ninian at Downfield Park

Beleaguered Forfar Albion were thrashed 11-0 at home to South League leaders Blackburn United.
