COLLISTON. Margaret Treger welcomed members and guests to the meeting that began with some pupils from Colliston school reciting Scottish poems and singing songs. She then introduced Edith Adams of French Dressing, who demonstrat­ed how to choose colours that would suit skin tone and hair colour. Competitio­ns: meatloaf – 1 E Bowman, 2 N Myles, 3 L Aitken; cross-stitch – 1 S Smith, 2 N Myles, 3 H Kelly; flower of the month – 1 L Aitken, 2 E Bowman. FARNELL. June and Ronnie Pratt gave a demonstrat­ion of ballroom dancing. Competitio­ns: flower of the month – 1 M Barclay, 2 I Allison, 3 D Stewart; knitted baby bonnet – 1 M Ramsay, 2 D Stewart, 3 H Barnett.

FETTERCAIR­N. Helen Ritchie introduced Helen Thomson who spoke about days gone by and read out some poems. Competitio­ns: knitted teddy – 1 M Allan, 2 S Japp, 3 A Kennedy;

GLENISLA. Kathleen Davidson introduced Dale Gormley from Canine Partners, who gave an illustrate­d talk about into his work training dogs to assist people with disabiliti­es. Competitio­ns: an animal or bird ornament – 1 J Hardy, 2 J Ralston; choc chip cookies – K Davidson; flower of the month – J Ralston.

INVERKEILO­R. Past president May Herron introduced the Basin Belles, a belly-dancing group from Montrose. Competitio­ns: knitted headband – 1 S Duncan, 2 J Hendry, 3 M Horn; vegetable cous-cous – S Duncan; flower of the month – 1 J Hendry, 2 M Horn.

LETHAM. President Evelyn Balfour welcomed everyone to the meeting and congratula­ted Clare Hill, who recently gave birth to a baby girl, Luna. Entertainm­ent for the evening was provided by Ellen Smith who spoke about her travels to India. Competitio­ns: ladies wrist corsage – K Anderson; hand-crafted 100th anniversar­y invitation – K Anderson; flower of the month – 1 K Anderson, 2 N Wishart, 3 C Hill.
