Woman accused of murdering her husband
COURT: Louisa Anderson alleged to have struck husband Dougie on leg with knife
The wife of a man who died in Perth at the weekend has appeared in court accused of his murder.
Louisa Anderson appeared in private at Perth Sheriff Court yesterday.
It is alleged she murdered taxi driver Dougie Anderson by striking him on the leg with a knife at an address in Dunnock Place on Saturday.
It is further alleged that she attacked Mr Anderson’s sister, Bernadette Anderson, the previous evening by jumping on her back and pulling her hair at the Grill Bar on Perth’s Flesher’s Vennel.
It is further alleged that at the same location on the same date she assaulted Fay McKenzie by pulling her to the ground and biting her on the breast.
Anderson entered no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
The case was continued for further examination.
The community was shocked by the 39-year-old’s death, with several saying the first they knew of the incident was when police knocked on their doors early on Saturday morning.
A neighbour added: “Officers came to my door around 4am and there were loads of police cars here – it was pandemonium.
“Obviously, something awful has happened but we don’t know what took place.”
A man living across the street from the incident said: “I woke up this morning to look out of my front window and was met with the sight of loads of police vehicles.
“This is normally a quiet area, so I was shocked to see all the police standing guard and the area taped off.”
One resident claimed police had used a dogs team when they arrived at the scene around 3.30pm.
Dozens of tributes have been made to Mr Anderson.
One woman wrote online: “Rip Dougie, poor guy. He was always the one to solve any problems. Can’t believe he’s now gone. Thoughts go out to his boys family and friends.”
Another friend wrote: “Was an honour and privilege to class you as a mate. May heaven have an open bar for you. We will all miss you in our own ways. Rip mate.”
A former neighbour also paid tribute, writing: “He was the nicest fun-loving friend I got to know, such a loss. I will miss him greatly.
“We had great times. I will forever remember you and I will never forget you. Rest in peace.”
