Some of the UK’s finest chamber musicians to return to Angus

-

Kinnordy Chamber Music Festival returns for its second year from April 7-9.

Some of the UK’s finest chamber musicians will once again perform in the beautiful setting of Kinnordy House on the outskirts of Kirriemuir.

The festival is the first of its kind in the area and a rare opportunity to hear quality chamber music in a historic setting.

During the festival the Gifford family will be welcoming audiences into Kinnordy House, which is rarely open to the public.

It will also be a temporary home to the musicians who will rehearse and live at Kinnordy during the week of the festival.

Mary Gifford said starting the festival has brought a new dimension to the family home.

This year’s festival begins with an evening concert on Friday April 7 at 7pm, with a suggested donation of £20.

Saturday is the festival’s Discovery Day which is filled with chamber music and discussion led by the musicians on this year’s theme which is Bohemia.

Those attending the Discovery Day from 11am to 5pm will have the opportunity to chat with musicians and fellow concert-goers.

A suggested donation of £55 for the day includes refreshments and lunch.

The final concert is at 11.30am on Sunday April 9 and the £20 suggested donation for this includes refreshments during the interval.

Discounts are available for students and children.
