Equality rights demand
Legal protections for vulnerable groups such as pregnant women will need to be reinforced after Brexit, a Commons committee has warned.
The Women and Equalities Committee has called on Prime Minister Theresa May to ensure that key rights are embedded into British law once the “backstop” safeguard of the European Court of Justice is removed.
MPs said the Government should use the Great Repeal Bill, which will incorporate European law into domestic law, to state there will be no rowing back on equalities guarantees.
