Getting in a twist!

-

“My wife asked me to hand in some books at the library and pick up one she had ordered,” writes a Craigie regular.

“Although her books generally fall under the heading of chicklit, handing them in is OK as Perth Library now has a machine for this task and there’s no human contact.

“Ordered books have to be collected from the inquiry desk, however. The young lass came back with my wife’s book giggling. When I saw the title, I realised why: it was the Wrong Knickers!

“No matter how often I protested that I loved westerns and war films, boxing, wrestling and golf and that I was not in line for a job at the BBC, the librarian was obviously not convinced.

“Next time, I shall inquire more closely of my wife the exact title of the book she wants me to collect! And knickers to you, too!”
