Dundee site’s future under discussion

Dundee City Council is in talks with packaging firm Langlands & McAinsh over the future of its site.

The property at the junction of East Marketgait and Seagate has been largely cleared of buildings and the firm has declined to comment publicly on its plans.

A spokesman for the council said: “We are in discussion with the owners to create a draft site planning brief to consider the future use of the site.”

There has been speculation that the demolition is a tactic to lower the owners’ business rates bill.
