BRECHIN St Andrew’s Episcopal Church Women’s Guild are holding a coffee morning tomorrow in St Andrew’s Church Hall from 10am to noon. Entry £2, usual stalls. All welcome.

FORFAR The Forget Me Not Belles are staging a two- day sale in the Masonic Lodge, Coutties Wynd on April 14 and 15, offering vintage bric-a-brac, jewellery and collectibl­es.

Proceeds will go to Alzheimer Scotland.

ARBROATH Arbroath Antiquary and History Club held its monthly meeting in Arbroath library, at which Elizabeth Aitken introduced guest speaker Joe Wishart who took the group through a century of Scottish singers, from Harry Lauder to the present day.

The club’s next meeting is the annual meeting on Friday April 28, followed by a talk by Dave Ramsay on The Cutty Sark. HEARTSTART Places are still available for Heartstart Discovery courses in Carnoustie on Tuesday (7-9pm) and Montrose on April 28 (2-4pm).

STONEHAVEN The Bay fish and chip shop has been announced as a finalist in the Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards in the success through partnershi­p category.

The category recognises the shop’s three-year partnershi­p with Compass Group UK for the distributi­on of the Premium Bay Batter and the Bay Fishcake.

A record number of 272 entries across all 22 categories were received for this year’s awards.

The winners will be announced on May 18 at an awards ceremony and dinner in Edinburgh.
