Conductor threatened by men on Fife-bound train

British Transport Police have launched an investigation after a conductor was threatened on a Fifebound train.

Two men are said to have threatened and abused the railway employee between Dalmeny and North Queensferry last month.

The incident happened on Saturday March 18, at around 6.25pm, as the conductor was checking tickets.

The duo became verbally abusive, with the staff member refusing them further travel and asking them to leave the service at the next station.

As the pair left they became abusive again and uttered threats towards the conductor.

Investigating officer DC Donna Davanna said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who was travelling on the service at this time.

“If you witnessed this incident please get in contact. Everyone has the right to travel and work without the fear of crime and intimidation.”

The first man is described as 26 years old with short brown hair, a thick beard and of stocky build. He was wearing a blue T-shirt with light writing on the front, blue jeans and had a green parka with fur on the hood.

The second man has been described as a 56-year-old with short grey/black speckled hair, wearing a light brown checked shirt and jeans.
