Forfar chip shop hosts gluten-free suppers

-

Spring is in the air and nothing beats enjoying a freshly prepared fish supper on a beautiful bright day.

Whether you love lashings of salt and vinegar or dipping those chips and beautifully battered fish in some tartare sauce – a fish supper is a fantastic treat.

The team at North Street Chip Shop know that sharing a fish supper with friends and family is a great Scottish tradition, whether it marks the end of a day spent outdoors or is a special lunchtime outing.

For many years, coeliacs have missed out on this tasty treat but North Street Chip Shop are keen to be able to offer meals suitable for every customer’s needs and have found the perfect solution.

The trusted local chip shop runs a regular gluten-free event, where customers can be sure their meal is carefully prepared without any trace of gluten.

This lunch service has been running for three years and has grown in popularity to attract customers from all over Angus and even further afield to enjoy a fish supper cooked without gluten.

Customers can feel confident that their food will be prepared by staff who are fully trained in the coeliac awareness catering module – the North Street Chip Shop’s haddock and cod are MSC certified and they are the only takeaway in Angus to hold the Eat Safe Award.

It’s not just fish and chips on offer – there is a full gluten free menu offering all those treats that coeliacs and gluten intolerant customers usually can’t eat including sausage, curry sauce and homemade onion rings.

In honour of coeliac awareness week North Street Chip Shop is holding an extra Gluten Free event on May 13 with lunches served from noon to 2pm.

Check out their event listing on Facebook for a full menu.
